Recently, Cowin(KAIYI) Automobile officially released two microcars, the Cowin i-EA 01 and the five-door i-EA 02, which are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2023. As part of KAIYI's entry-level electric vehicle series, the i-EA, these two new models maintain a cute and compact design, boasting a dynamic appearance.
The designs of the i-EA 01 and i-EA 02 are both captivating. They feature triangle-shaped headlights, giving a stylish and lovely looks. Meanwhile, there is a suspected LED daytime running light on the lower front fascia, significantly enhancing the visual impact of the entire vehicle. From the side, these two cars exude a compact and agile vibe, with triangle-shaped taillights and a central black trim creating a sense of continuity.
In terms of dimensions, the three-door i-EA 01 measures 3080/1660/1550mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 1990mm. It offers both 2-seat and 4-seat configurations. The five-door i-EA 02, on the other hand, measures 3818/1676/1560mm and has a wheelbase of 2490mm, providing options for either a 4-seat or 5-seat interior. These dimensions position these models competitively within their respective segments.
While the interior details have not been revealed, it has been confirmed that the new cars will feature a 10.25-inch+7-inch connected screen display, along with features like 360-degree panoramic views and keyless entry. These features are expected to enhance both the driving experience and convenience.
In terms of powertrain, the i-EA 01 will be equipped with a front-mounted single electric motor, boasting a maximum power output of 35kW and utilizing lithium iron phosphate batteries. It is expected to offer three different ranges: 155km, 210km, and 301km (CLTC conditions). The i-EA 02, on the other hand, will offer both pure electric and extended-range hybrid powertrain options. The pure electric version will have a maximum power output of 50kW and offer ranges of 210km, 301km, and 401km (CLTC conditions). The extended-range hybrid model will have a pure electric range of 120km or 200km (CLTC conditions). These powertrain and range specifications are tailored to meet the diverse needs of electric vehicle consumers.
